Argentite

Ag2

Argentite appears to have been discredited as a mineral name due to the fact that at below 180° Centigrade, the mineral crystal structure changes, and the mineral is acanthite. This does not take into consideration that the right conditions likely occur in certain environments for the mineral to be argentite. Regardless, any “argentite” that exists at less than 180° Centigrade is acanthite.
