This rare sulphosalt species is mostly described from analysis of silver ore samples. However, at the Kara Mine, Tasmania, it was found as distinct silvery needles or flat bladed crystals, located through dissolving the enclosing calcite. Some specimens exhibit a rainbow iridescence.
