Allanite

CaREE(Al2Fe2+)[Si2O7][SiO4]O(OH) (where REE = Ce, La, or Y)

Allanite is a relatively common phosphate mineral that contains rare earth elements. It occurs as an accessory mineral in skarns, pegmatites and granites as black or brown prismatic crystals. The dominant REE is often not determined. Allanite-(Ce) is thought to be the most commonly occurring species.
