Antigorite is a common green fine-grained serpentine mineral, and difficult to visually distinguish from other serpentine minerals such as lizardite.

Selected Australian Occurrences:

  • At the Woodsreef Mine, New South Wales.
  • In the Barossa Valley and at Arkaroola, South Australia.
  • As a constituent of serpentine rocks at Serpentine Hill, Trial Harbour, Heazlewood and Beaconsfield, Tasmania.
  • In the Murchison meteorite, Victoria.
  • At a number of nickel mines and other localities in Western Australia.
